I was tagged by Sara M. and being that this is my first tag, it definitely is a tough one (to remember things). Here I go...
20 years ago (1988)...I was in the 6th grade at Ridgecrest Elementary School. My teacher was Mrs. Beyers and I was the class president in Swatchville - does anyone remember doing that in the 6th grade? I think that year I was playing basketball, soccer and softball. Oh, yeah the Harnish Heat Softball, Baden Basketball and Bootlegger Soccer days. I lived in my first home in South Hill with my mom, dad and brother Josh. I was still perming my hair and I think my bangs were just starting to get big at this point. I loved playing sports and that was really all the time I had between school and family.
10 years ago (1998)...
The year began with a great event - THE COUGS had gone to the ROSE BOWL for the first time in 60+ years and a whole bunch of carpooled down to CA and enjoyed one of the funniest trips - Disneyland, Universal Studios, the Rose Bowl and just a lot of Cougar pride and fun. That was the end of my junior year in college and that summer I spent interning at the Tacoma Rainiers - which would later turn into my career - how crazy and interning for the WSU Athletic Foundation planning the fundraising tournaments . That was a great summer full of good times. It was also the beginning of my Senior in college, which meant I graduated in May 1999. Crazy to think that was 10 years ago. Anyway, good times always at WSU. I made great friends and stayed together with my long-time high school sweetheart, Jamin.
5 years ago (2003)....Let's see that year Jamin and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary and welcomed into our lives our first baby - Kara Elizabeth on July 3rd. That was the most amazing experience in the world. Motherhood/Parenthood is the greatest gift and blessing in the world. I was still working at the Tacoma Rainiers and Jamin was working in Seattle at the Outdoor Emporium. We lived in Federal Way in our first home for 2 1/2 years. Jamin bought his duck hunting/fishing boat that year (this was a big deal since he had been bugging me to buy one FOREVER) and by the end of 2003 we decided to put our house up for sale. We did so right after Christmas and the house sold within 2-3 months. I went back to work 4 days a week after my maternity leave and simply loved being a mother.
3 years ago (2005)...
We now live back in the Puyallup area (Summit to be exact), but we have a Tacoma address. I still worked for the Tacoma Rainiers and Jamin know works for AllSports Supply as an outside sales rep. He loves his job and so does his family. He went to Vegas the first of this year for his work's BIG SHOW (must be rough). Then is was back to getting ready for Opening Night at the Rainiers and of course, the news that I was pregnant with baby 2 - YEAH! Jace Benjamin decided to grace us with his presence in 2005 arriving 2 weeks early on Dec. 20, 2005. What a sweet and adorable baby boy. We were so excited to grow our family to four! Its funny how you sort of forget all your memories and they simply become all of your children. Kara celebrated her 2nd birthday that summer and went camping a lot. Oh, yeah that was the year we potty trained Kara and that was a nightmare!
This past year...Where do I start...I now work for The Grand Cinema (a small non-profit art house film theater in downtown Tacoma). I only work 3 days a week and then one day from home so I get to spend a lot more time with the kids. We welcomed into the world our 3rd gorgeous baby - Bryce Raymond on April 11. Jace turned two, Kara turned 5 and I turned 31! Jamin will be turning 33 on August 3. Time flies...we still enjoy camping which of course only happened once this year, Jamin is always working outside on some project and I need to get my butt in gear and start working on the inside of the house again - although, Jamin is better at that, too. We are getting ready for Kara to start Kindergarten this fall at Midland Elementary School where she will be attending all-day Monday, Wednesday and every other Friday. We are heading to Disneyland the end of this month - I know we are crazy right before school starts and on a busy holiday weekend. All I can say is that we love our life and feel so blessed with all the many family and friends we get to share our joy with.
Yesterday...(August 2)Jamin returned home from Alaska Friday night after a week long fishing vacation. So this morning we all relaxed and enjoyed having daddy home again. Of course, that meant some challenging situations with Jace - he likes to make daddy "earn" his attention when he leaves. I think its a typical 2 year old thing. We really did not do much - it was really nice not having a million places to go and things to do. I organized all the kids' toys and then our friends Saundra and Steven came over with their daughters Camden and Brooklynn. Steven helped hook up our hot tub so we owed him some beer and dinner. We all had a really good time.
Tomorrow...(August 4)It's Monday and it's back to work for both Jamin and I. We also start swimming lessons again, so the kids are very excited. So that means wake up, get the kids ready (somewhat), off to work, work and then get home and off to swimming, get home from swimming and quickly get the kids fed because Bryce goes to bed at 7p. We will repeat this till Wednesday and then Thursday will be somewhat similar, but I don't go to work.
Next Year (2009)....
Right before we ring in the New Year we will celebrate Jace's 3rd birthday. Kara will be finishing up her second half of kindergarten and as far as I can tell I will still be working at the Grand Cinema and Jamin will be working for AllSports. Jamin and I will be celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary in March along with celebrating my 32nd birthday. Bryce will turn one in April and Kara will turn 6 in July. We plan to camp a lot and purchase a new camper in 2009. We absolutely love these type of family vacations. I hope to escape with Jamin for a nice weekend get-away at some point. I hope to paint our bedroom and get a new bedroom set. Besides that I just pray for good health and happiness for our entire family. Now that we have decided we are 100% done have children its a nice feeling to know that we are entering our next chapter in life. It's going to be great - lots of activities for the two older kids (swimming, soccer, basketball, dance, piano and whatever else they think they might want to try.) Life is good:-)
This is my first tag and I am very excited to tag Natalie, Stephanie, Paige, Marissa and Sarah A. Have fun.
