Playing Catch Up Again...

Alright - so I still haven't really caught up on everything, so here goes another catch up log. I can't believe today is the first day of FALL! I must admit I am looking forward to this time of year. I love Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Not looking forward to all the "gloom", but right now I can't complain - cool crisp mornings, sunny afternoons...ahh, good cuddle time with the family. So basically, since we have started the month of September I have been working full time (no fun) so life seems to be very hectic. I can't wait till October and I can go back to my normal 3-day a week schedule. Anyway, lots of fun things have been happening this month. So I will tell the story in pictures and captions:-)
In this picture Jace was complaining that he kept hitting his head on the head board of his bed, so I told him he should wear his bicycle helmet to protect his head. The funny thing is he actually wanted to wear it and fell asleep with it on. Don't worry, we took the pictures and promptly took the helmet off. Too cute:-)
Bryce is already starting to sit up! I can't believe it...growing up so fast!

This one is adorable, but I must admit that I am super jealous. All of our kids will totally relax and hang out with their dad, but not with me. I guess its the true test of ones personality...anyone who knows Jamin - he is one layed back, relaxed dude. As for me, you can't really say that:-)

Bryce is eating cereal - that's right cereal already. We promptly started feeding him right after we started Kara in Kindergarten. I had to give myself a few days so I could handle all the emotional changes.
Yes, you are adorable - does his hair look a little red in this picture? He is my first bald baby, so its always tough to tell the color of his hair. His eyes are still blue - although my pictures always capture the red eye (I need to work on that).

Disneyland

Where to start? This was the most amazing vacation, we had so much fun. The adventure started off early on Thursday morning (Aug. 28) with an 8:30a flight. We hoped the kids would fall back asleep on the drive up to the airport, but we were sadly mistaken. No problem, they were real troopers. The flight went great and we got to Anaheim by 12:30p. Luckily, our room was ready and we took a good nap before heading straight to DISNEYLAND! Wow! When they say its magical - I must admit - it is (hokey, but true). The kids were just amazed as so were Jamin and I. I could go on and on for pages explaining all the wonderful things we did, but I need to get to sleep tonight. We basically woke up early every morning, hit Disneyland and California Adventure, came back to the hotel in the afternoon to take naps and then headed back to the parks till 9-10p. We also had the best kids pool area at our hotel - a mini Wild Waves kids area. The kids had just as much fun at the hotel swimming then at the parks (ah, the simple things in life). One thing I must mention is the fact that there was really no lines. The longest line we waited in was 45 min. for the Nemo submarine ride (not so worth the wait). The other long line was 30 min. for the new Toy Story Mania ride - completely worth the wait. All the workers at Disney said that the lines were on average 30-45 min. shorter this summer. I must say we lucked out because numerous rides - Splash Mountain, Mulholland Madness, Big Thunder Railroad, most of the Fantasyland rides - had no lines at all and we just got right back on the rides. This was such a great vacation. The only down side was that we left Bryce with the grandparents so we did miss him. We will definitely be doing this one again - probably wait till Bryce is old enough to enjoy it - but if we could this would be a once a year vacation!

First Day of Kindergarten

She's 5, she's sassy and she is off to Kindergarten...

Kara is officially a Kindergartener. I know its hard to believe. I still can't believe it. My fussy little baby who weighed a whopping 5 lbs 12 oz is a big girl heading off to school. I know I am doing this a little backwards blogging about her first day of Kindergarten before publishing our Disney trip. The problem is I have too many pictures I want to share from Disneyland.

My sweet Kara Elizabeth...I should say "our" sweet Kara. Her daddy was probably the most anxious about this whole ordeal. He is such a wonderful daddy, he was the last parent to leave the Kindergarten room. Basically, Kara got on the school bus at Carly's bus stop (my sister-in-law's house Jessica/Griffin) and then we went straight to the school to only miss her getting off the bus. So we ventured inside the hallway to find her standing in line listening to her teacher - Mr. DeBruler. That's right a man Kindergarten teacher. He seems to be a very good teacher. They have two Kindergarten teachers that the students will both have for reading, art, music, PE, etc. Once Mr. D (that's what they call him) was finished accounting for all the students, into the class we all ventured (17 kids and just as many adults:-) Mr. D was great and let all the parents hang out in the back snapping pictures while he got the class rolling. The kids all did great - not one looked back at their parents (not even Kara). This bothered Jamin a little. I finally had to pry Jamin out of there (15 minutes into class). It was bitter sweet - she did it all by herself just fine, but that means she is growing up. Yes, I know she is going to grow up and we are very proud of her - its just an emotion - that's all. On the way back home Jamin and I both acknowledged that we are very excited about our new chapter in life. We love our family:-) Enjoy the pictures.

Catching Up!

I can't believe its almost been a month since my last post. I honestly do not know where the time went. So I decided to catch up a little on the rest of August. We visited Jamin's grandparents Gig Harbor property for a little relaxation. We played a lot in the house since the weather wasn't all that great - thus the great picture of Jace as the next Jonas Brother! I was busy working, getting ready for Disneyland and preparing for Kindergarten. I am not sure why the month of August just flew by, but it did. Bryce is simply growing like crazy. He likes to hang out in the exer-saucer now, which is great. He is always smiling and still spitting up ALOT! Jace is the typical 2 year old - full of spirit and adventure and loves to challenge his mom and dad. Kara is turned into a little girl right before our eyes - she started Kindergarten on Sept. 3 (more of that in another post). Both Kara and Jace have grown like crazy this summer, so lots of shopping to look forward to. All in all, life is good and I feel so blessed to have my family.
